Healy Hunt to Recruit IT Staff for FinTechs

Healy Hunt is extending its FinTech practice to include IT roles for the first time. Client demand led to us opening this new specialism. We will not become a full-service IT recruiter as that remains a very different industry, but IT is so integral to our FinTech clients’ operations that this step became inevitable.

Our business focuses on a core set of Financial Services verticals including Banking, Fintech, Asset Management, Venture Capital, Alternative Finance, Funds, Real Estate and Advisory. Our consultants each have functional expertise for roles in areas such as Compliance, Risk, Origination, Change & Transformation, Finance and Operations. IT becomes our latest functional area with the scope remaining firmly within a FinTech context. In this case, we refer to “FinTech” either as software-driven Financial Services organisations, like the challengers and start-ups we have worked with in banking and alternative lending for many years, or, to similar departments and sub-brands within larger institutions. The same skillsets are required across the board although the organisational cultures can vary.

Software Developers will feature heavily in our new focus area: coding languages such as JavaScript, Python, Linux, Ruby and Java are used to build the infrastructure, style the interfaces and drive the user experiences that are becoming so familiar in the new era of Financial Services. We have recently placed a Head of Development with a FinTech and our new focus will enable us to fill a wider range of FinTech specific Operations positions more effectively, including those that require heavyweight IT experience.

Our area of focus for this functional specialism will typically be at mid to senior management level and will cover permanent, interim and project roles. This is an exciting development for Healy Hunt and we look forward to providing our clients with the exceptional support they have come to expect as we service this new functional area.
